Ukranian nationals displaced by the war will perform their story through a cabaret performance.
Hooligan theatre collective will take to the Theatre Royal this coming Thursday and Friday from 7:30 P:M.
The collective was formed in the bunkers of Kyiv during the war.
Speaking to WLR News, performer Mirra Zhuchkova tells us what to expect. She added:" At this moment what you can see is how I am treating this as a therapeutic way of dealing with what we had to go through. I am discovering the answer to the question. Why war is happening today and I think can cause disconnection from oneself. On the stage, you can see how I can be connected with this world again".
Hooligan Theatre collective from Ukraine arrived in Waterford earlier this week. The performance will tell the story of the war and how it affected those involved.
Danylo Shramenko one of the performers says it's important that their story be told. He added: "I think it is about sharing with people about what happened with us in Ukraine. Our main ideas and inputs are aimed at telling the rest of Europe what is happening in Ukraine through the medium of performance."
Mary Boland, Theare director at the Theatre Royal says "it's an honor to play host for such a good cause".
"The performances are taking place this week on the 2nd and 3rd of March from 7:30. The performances are open to everybody. It really is a beautiful piece of work.
"Anyone who is interested in performing arts will not want to miss out."
