A Waterford fashion designer is encouraging us to shun fast fashion and learn to make our own clothes.
Caroline O'Toole of Speak in Stitches is running sewing classes in Butler Community Centre in St. John's Park next week.
The first set of evening classes start on Monday next (September 23rd) at 6:30pm, while morning classes start on Tuesday at 10am.
Caroline says people are more aware of sustainability when it comes to fashion:
She says her classes are suitable for everyone, even those who don't know how to use a sewing machine and English doesn't have to be your first language.
"The classes are designed to be fun and creative. A lot of people have sewing machines at home and don't have the confidence to use then, they just gather dust. Our class is designed to show how easy it is to use a sewing machine and then produce beautiful projects that you can be proud of,"
You can book a place on the Butler Community Centre Facebook page or call Caroline on 087 982 9193.
The fee is €10.00 per session and the classes last three hours.
