Gardai are investigating a number of burglaries in Waterford yesterday.
In one instance gardai attended a house at Hunters Wood, Ballinakill, at 7.43pm following an alarm activation.
The front door of the house was open, and the alarm panel inside had been ripped from the wall while the alarm on the outside
of the house had been tampered with.
Some jewellery was taken.
Between 7pm and 9.30pm a family returned to their home at Ballinakill, to discover that house had been ransacked.
Some cash was stolen.
Between 7pm and 8pm there was damage to a back window of a house at Park Lane, Maypark Lane Waterford
Gardai attended the scene and nothing seems to be missing.
A black Audi acting suspiciously in the area at the time subsequently left at speed.
Gardai says this car could be connected to the three burglaries in the Dunmore Road area.
Yesterday evening between 5.30pm and 6.15pm the back window of a house at Newrath, Ferrybank,
was broken.
