More than €2,000 was raised for the Red Cross Ukrainian fund at Walsh Park in Waterford last weekend.
A bucket collection, organised by Councillor John Pratt, took place at the Waterford/Tipperary clash.
It was organised at short notice but a total of €2,140 was donated by those attending.
"I would also like to thank the collectors," Councillor Pratt said, "along with WLR, Tipp Fm, and The GAA for their support.
"This event was organised at very short notice and I want to thank the Gardaí who helped make this happen."
The money raised has been lodged to The Red Cross Ukraine Fund Account.
Continuing, John said, "This was our small effort to help those affected by this terrible atrocity and to show our unity with the people of Ukraine both here in Ireland and in Ukraine. Hopefully there will be an end in sight soon."
