The remains of a female occupant were discovered following a house fire in County Waterford last night.
Waterford Fire Service was alerted to the fire in Munmahoge between Tramore and Butlerstown at approximately 7.30pm yesterday.
Two fire brigades were dispatched, one from Tramore and one from Dunmore East.
On arrival, they found a well-developed fire in a single storey house.
After the fire was extinguished, the remains of a female were discovered during a search of the property.
Waterford Fire Service's operation ceased at approximately 11pm and the scene was handed over to the Gardaí.
