Earlier this evening:
Searches are continuing this evening in County Waterford for a 37-year-old woman missing in the Comeragh mountains.
The woman was last seen at 1:45pm yesterday (Sunday) afternoon.
She was an experienced mountain runner.
Cloud cover increased over the Comeraghs this afternoon, which led to the Coastguard rescue helicopter 117 returning to base.
However, the search for the woman continues on foot, with South East Mountain Rescue saying that numerous parties are out on the hills.
At the minute six hill parties are searching the gullies, and areas which may be more difficult to see
Liz Browne is from South East Mountain Rescue.
"Cloud cover is just too low for the Coastguard helicopter at the moment, they could only come in and go around what we can walk ourselves."
"Even earlier on today, our team members were actually higher up on the mountains what they were able to walk around, she said.
Local Comeragh Councillor Seánie Power is appealing to farmers in the area to keep an eye out.
"The fog can come down very quickly and you could get caught out easy enough.
I'd be appealing to farmers because they know all of the nooks and crannies out on the hills and all of the dangerous spots.
"I'd ask them to have a lookout on their own land because as time goes on, it's getting more worrying," he said.
The woman who is believed to be from Co Tipperary set out to walk and run the Coumshingaun loop yesterday and the alarm was raised at 3 pm when she failed to return.
Kerry mountain rescue has now returned this evening and may return tomorrow depending on how the search pans out into the night.
Groups from Dublin and Wicklow have also travelled to the Comeraghs to aid the South East Mountain Rescue.
Right now, it's unclear whether the 117 helicopter will return as rain and mist envelope the mountains.
