The 26th annual Bluegrass festival in Dunmore East is set to return this summer.
The popular festival has been running since 1995, with the obvious exception of last year. The popular music festival ordinarily takes place all around the seaside village, however, this year's event will be a one-off special, taking place on Creaden Head on Saturday August 28th.
Only 190 tickets, costing 50 euro, will be sold in order to comply with Covid regulations.
Organiser Mick Daly said they didn't know until last week whether an event could take place at all this year:
"We finally got the go-ahead last Wednesday night, we had to go through the fire chief, the garda, all the authorities, so that took a bit of time. The application was submitted on July 20th."
Mick said it was important to keep the festival going, not let it fizzle out. So working within the guidelines it will be outdoors, starting at 1pm and finishing at 10pm.
The line up features seven bands: Pilgrim Street from Navan, Mules and Men from Dublin, the Mons Wheeler band from Northern Ireland, a new band from Belfast No Oil Painting, Lands End, Whistle and Southern Welfare, the only local band.
