Blackrock in Dublin has the highest median price for household dwelling purchases of any Eircode in the country, according to recent figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
In the 12 months to February 2021, the median price for a residential property in the area was €617,500, in sharp contrast to that of the Eircode with the lowest median price, Castlerea, Co Roscommon, of €85,000.
Overall, residential property prices increased by 3 per cent nationally in the same 12-month period, showing a rise from 2.6 per cent in the year to January.
Property prices in Dublin showed a 1.2 per cent annual increase to February, while properties outside the capital jumped by 4.7 per cent.
Broken down by area and property type, apartments outside of Dublin noted the largest percentage increase in price during the 12 months, increasing by 9.6 per cent.
Only two categories reported price decreases - houses in Fingal and house in the Border region - falling by 1.2 and 0.8 per cent respectively.
The top three Eircodes with the highest median prices were:
- A94 - Blackrock, Co Dublin, €617,500
- D04 - Dublin 4, €575,000
- D14 - Dublin 14, €570,750
Meanwhile, the three Eircodes with the lowest median prices were:
- F45 - Castlerea, Co Roscommon, €85,000
- H23 - Clones, Co Monaghan, €86,000
- F35 - Ballyhaunis, Co Mayo, €91,000
