The Beef Plan Movement has been approved as a 'producer organisation' by the Department of Agriculture.
It will enable the group to negotiate prices with meat factories if its members are selling cattle.
The new organisation will be named 'Irish Beef Producers'.
The Beef Plan Movement is behind a number of protests outside meat factories around the country, including Grannagh and Ferrybank.
The announcement comes as farmers continue to picket processing plants and factory workers remain temporarily laid off.
