A teenage boy's been arrested after a three day armed standoff with Gardaí in Letterkenny, Co Donegal.
At around 5:45pm on Wednesday, Gardaí responded to reports of a domestic incident at a property in the town.
They discovered a teenager alone in the house, barricaded in with a shotgun and ammunition.
A 54-hour standoff followed with Gardaí Crisis Negotiators and a number of armed Garda units tasked to the scene, supported by psychiatrists and staff from the child and family agency, TUSLA.
Gardaí say it reached a peaceful conclusion at 12:30am last night after a tactical intervention by its Emergency Response Unit. No one was injured.
The teenage boy was arrested and is currently detained under section 4 Criminal Justice Act.
He's being held at a Donegal Garda Station where he's receiving a medical assessment.
