Waterford City is now in line with Dublin in terms of rental inflation slowing down.
According to the latest Daft.ie report, rents in Waterford City have risen by 5.5 per cent in the last year.
A year ago, rents were rising at 20 per cent year on year.
Ronan Lyons, economist at Trinity College Dublin and author of the Daft Report, says rental inflation is decelerating in most of Ireland's cities. He says the rate of rental inflation in Waterford City is slowing.
The average rent in Waterford City is now 1,007 euro a month.
According to the latest Daft.ie report, rents in the city have risen by 5.5 per cent in the last year.
In the rest of Waterford, rents are almost 12 per cent higher than this time last year - the cost of the average rent in Waterford county is now 962 euro.
