A Waterford Garda is hoping to make dreams come true for seriously ill children.
Marc Tobin has received an autographed photo of Rachael Blackmore crossing the finish line of this year's Grand National on Minella Times, and is now having it auctioned for the Little Blue Heroes foundation.
The Garda charity helps children undergoing long-term medical treatment. Hospital visits, financial support, providing holiday breaks and rewarding these heroes with honorary membership of the gardai is at the core of what Little Blue Heroes do.
The photo is to be auctioned by Sheppard's Auction House online on June 11th, and Philip Sheppard says it's going to be the most important piece of their sale that day...
"There are specific Waterford signs on it (the auction) some of them 100 years old. There are lots of things from the South East and then the usual Guinness signs, Irish Distillers the old tobacco ones etc, but the one we really want people to know about is this signed autograph photograph of Rachel Blackmore which she kindly donated to benefit the charity 'Little Blue Heroes' and we're selling it pro bono".
