Dungarvan Gardaí are currently investigating an assault which took place in the Cappoquin area of West Waterford on Thursday March 17th, St. Patrick’s Day.
In a statement issued to WLR News, Gardaí say a girl in her mid-teens received medical treatment following an incident involving a group of youths.
“Gardaí at Dungarvan have commenced an investigation following an alleged assault of a female in the course of an incident involving a group of youths in the Cappoquin area of County Waterford on the 17th of March 2022.”
“The female, who is aged in her mid-teens, received medical treatment following the incident for non-life threatening injuries.”
The statement added that the investigating Gardaí are following a definite line of enquiry in regard to the matter.
As the incident is involving minors, Gardaí will not be making any further comment at this time.
