Residents in the Mount Sion Avenue area of Waterford City are concerned about a number of arson attacks over the last few weeks.
A car was set on fire in the early hours of Sunday morning causing damage to two houses.
Residents say there was another attempt at setting a car on fire over the weekend and there's been a spate of wheelie bins being set alight recently.
Sharon Flynn, the owner of one of the houses damaged on Sunday, told Damien Tiernan on Deise Today that thousands of euro worth of damage occurred:
"The house is destroyed. I can't go near it. The walls and all have melted behind the insulation and they think the structure of the house is damaged as well.
"People had to get out over the roofs, out over the gardens to get out of the houses. Someone could have been really badly hurt."
