Arrest made after more than a dozen cars broken into in Waterford

A 20 year old man has been arrested after more than a dozen cars were broken into at University Hospital Waterford overnight.

Windows of at least 13 cars were smashed and property was stolen. Gardai believe that number could rise further.

Gardai were alerted to the incident and arrested a man near the scene at around 5.00am this morning, he is currently being held at Waterford Garda Station

Gardai say that property has been recovered and they are encouraging anyone else whose car may have been targeted to contact them on 051 305300.
