The Army bomb disposal unit was tasked to a beach in Waterford today.
It's after concerns were raised about what was described as a 'suspicious box' that appeared to have washed ashore on Clonea Beach this morning.
Gardaí in Dungarvan were informed and a section of the beach was cordoned off.
They liaised with the Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit, which then attended the scene.
However, Gardaí have now told WLR News that on inspection, the device was found to be non-viable.
The cordon has since been lifted.
