There are calls for more amenities to be provided for young people in Dunmore East in County Waterford.

It's after a vacant house in Shanakiel was set on fire on Thursday night.

The house was the scene of a fatal stabbing in July of last year and has been a magnet for antisocial behaviour.

Catherine Keating lives in the house next door.

"You don't want to see that in your neighbourhood, it's a beautiful estate, the people here are lovely.

"Everyone is very proactive in trying to keep it that way.

"To see antisocial behaviour like that, it's a reflection on the fact that there are very little facilities for youth within the whole of Dunmore East.

"I come from the City originally, I ran the Busy Bees Gardens project for years in St John's Park.
