Kieran Kennedy said instructors were only informed by the Road Safety Authority this week, that testing would start again next Monday July 20th.
Speaking to Damien Tiernan on WLR's Deise Today, Mr Kennedy said this will leave some people without the chance to do pre-test lessons, something he says can be crucial in terms of preparation.
He said it's all very well for people who have been getting lessons in the last week in the hopes of getting a cancellation, but for others it's not good news. He added that many driving instructors are only returning to work Monday July 20th, which makes it more difficult again.
Kieran Kennedy advised that people who get called to do a test next week and feel they're not ready should contact the RSA and explain that to them. He said this advice would not apply to people who get called up due to a cancellation.
