The Department of Health says a second person has died from coronavirus.
At a briefing this evening, Chief Medical Officer Tony Holohan said there are 39 new cases of Covid-19.
That brings the total number of confirmed cases in the Republic to 129.
The 39 newly confirmed cases include 29 males and 10 females.

21 are in the east of the country, 13 in the south, 3 in the north west and 2 in the west.
It's understood the person who died was a man in the east of the country, who had underlying health issues.
A woman who contracted Covid-19 died in Naas Hospital earlier in the week.
