It's been revealed that 17 women who were part of a review of the programme have died.
175 out of 208 women with cancer nationally would have benefited from earlier treatment, while 162 that were part of a look-back were not told about the review or its outcome.
The HSE has received 6,000 calls on a helpline across the weekend and today.
David Cullinane told WLR News that a number of women from across the region may be affected.
"I have been made aware from sources in University Hospital Waterford that there are a number of patients form across Waterford and the South East who have been screened and who have not been given the full information," he said.
"There is a responsibility on hospital management to ensure that all of those patients are contacted as quickly as possible. I would urge all of those who have been screened to contact the helpline number on 1800 45 45 55.
Deputy Cullinane says the HSE have questions to answer over the outsourcing of the screening programme to an American firm.
"We need to hold those responsible for the delivery of this service to account."
