Almost all adults in Waterford are vaccinated against covid-19, according to the latest data from the HSE.
99.7% of over-18s in Waterford had received two doses of a vaccine by September 15th, making the county the one with the most immunised population in Ireland.
Elsewhere in the South East, Carlow has 98.8% of the adult population immunised, Wexford has 97.7%, Tipperary is at 97.3% and 90.8% of adults in Kilkenny have had both doses.
According to the latest available statistics, 91% of Irish adults over the age of 18 are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 – the highest total in the European Union.
Hospital admissions
The number of patients in public hospitals with Covid-19 has fallen by over 100 in less than three weeks.
The figure stood at 373 on September 5th, before dropping to 270 last night.
At UHW 3 people are being treated with the virus.
1,432 new cases of the virus were confirmed yesterday (Wednesday) - while the five-day moving average is 1,338.
There have been 299 cases in Waterford up to midnight on Monday (Sept 20th) - the five day moving average of cases in the county is 18.
