A cross party group of Waterford councillors held a photoshoot outside City Hall yesterday showcasing their support for keeping the Eighth Amendment.
Organised by Fianna Fáil's Jason Murphy and independent Joe Kelly, it quickly drew criticism on social media as it was made up entirely of 14 men.
Out of 32 councillors there are four female members of the council. Three of them - independent Mary Roche and Sinn Féin's Siobhán Whelan and Breda Brennan - are voting Yes while Fine Gael's Lola O'Sullivan is not disclosing her position on the referendum.
Councillor Roche called the men "a disgrace" as the photo was being taken.
Speaking to WLR News, Jason Murphy dismissed criticism of the photo's gender balance.
Councillor Murphy says it's important fathers be heard and included in debate on the issue.
