An attempt to break a Guinness World Record for the most people applying sunscreen has taken place in Waterford.
1,856 people took part in the event at the People's Park this morning.
It surpassed the previous record by 34 people, however it will be a number of weeks before it's officially confirmed.

The Solas Cancer Support Centre used the event to highlight the importance of sun protection.
Kevin O'Hagan is the Cancer Prevention Manager with the Irish Cancer Society - he explains why the event was so important: "Delighted to see so many young people, the young people are getting a really important message today that it's so important to protect yourself in the sun, to enjoy the sun but to wear hats, wear tshirts, cover up and of course wear sun-cream." He added that "these young people will remember this day and will remember the importance of wearing sun-cream".
