The number of people choosing Waterford as their staycation location halved between 2019 and 2021.

This is likely because of the pandemic and travel restrictions that were in place.

In 2019, 460,000 people from other counties visited the Déise, compared to just 232,000 last year.

Waterford doesn't fare too poorly when compared to its neighbouring counties.
