Tramore RNLI had one of their busiest days in recent history today (Thursday).
The lifeboat was launched on three occasions, the most recent shortly after 8:00 pm this evening.
They were called to a rib which had broken down off Garrus beach. The rib is currently being towed back to Tramore pier. Two people are on board the vessel.
Crews had only returned from a previous incident when they were tasked.
The second incident happened at around 6:30 pm when two people got trapped on a sandbar near Saleens.
They got caught out by a spring high tide.
The lifeboat and the Waterford based Coast Guard helicopter Rescue 117 both launched.
However, the walkers were able to wade to safety.
This morning crews assessed a swimmer who got fatigued and brought him back to the Guillamene.
Tramore RNLI are reminding people that there will be spring high tides again tomorrow and that there will be no lifeguards on duty until Saturday.
