In 2019, 495 opposite-sex marriages took place in Waterford - 200 in the city and 295 in the rest of the county - and 15 same-sex marriages.
11 of those were in the city and 4 in the rest of the county.
However, with pandemic restrictions imposed in March last year, just half the number of marriages took place in 2020.
In Waterford City, 104 opposite-sex and 3 same-sex ceremonies were carried out, and in the rest of the county, 144 opposite-sex and 4 same-sex marriages were held.
Last year, Civil Marriages were the most popular in Waterford with 119 of those going ahead, as opposed to 108 religious ceremonies.
That's in direct contrast with 2019 when the vast majority - 279 - were religious, and 191 were civil.
Of the religious marriages, Catholic remained the most popular both years.
