Waterford Council to hold special meeting following death of former Mayor

The former Mayor of Waterford City, Pat Hayes, has died.

The Labour City Councillor was first elected in 1991 and served the people of Waterford for 22 years.

Pat Hayes was Mayor in 1999 and again in 2011.

He stepped down in 2013 citing health and family reasons.

Waterford Council will hold a special meeting this afternoon to propose a vote of sympathy.
