A new Covid-19 data hub has been launched which allows people to monitor the number of cases in their local area.

It comes as the number of confirmed cases in Waterford has increased for the first time in almost two weeks.

The latest figures from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre shows a total of 155 cases in Waterford since the outbreak began. That's up to midnight on Tuesday and is a daily increase of one.

The new Covid-19 dashboard examines the number of total confirmed cases in each electoral area. For confidentiality reasons it does not release figures when the total in that area is fewer than five.

Only 9 electoral areas in Waterford recorded 5 or more cases since the outbreak began.

Tramore and Farronshoneen both have had 12 cases, there's a total of 9 in the Ballytruckle area, 6 in Ballybeg North, Tycor North and Dungarvan Urban 2, Dungarvan's other urban area has a total of 5 as do Cleaboy and Ferrybank.

It should be noted that a high proportion of these cases will have fully recovered within a 14 day period.}
