Irish Water and Waterford City and County Council are asking customers in the Comeragh (Briska Lower), Crough, Fews, Graiguerush and Kealfoun areas to be mindful of how they use water at this time.
As groundwater levels are low at this time, the source is struggling to keep up with the daily water demand on the scheme. Irish Water and Waterford City and County Council are prioritising resolving this issue and continue to carry out operational works to minimise the impacts on customers.
It is important to continue to follow the HSE guidance on hand washing at this time and while handwashing remains a priority, simple water conservation efforts can have a big impact on reducing demand on the supply.
Turning off the tap while brushing your teeth and shaving can save up to 6 litres of water per minute. Taking a shower instead of a bath, or using a watering can rather than a hose when gardening can also make a big difference in water use.
