The South East continues to have the highest unemployment rate in the country.
The CSO's quarterly Labour Force Survey has the region at 6.8% at the end of 2019.
However, the figure is more than two percentage points above the national average which is 4.5%.
All the other regions have unemployment rates of below 5%.
Nationally, the number of people unemployed in Ireland fell by 14 percent in 2019.
In the South East there was a drop of 7.7% to 14,300.
The new figures show that a record 2.36 million people had jobs in the Republic during the last three months of 2019.
The said on Tuesday that the numbers at work grew here during the final quarter of last year, while unemployment continued falling.
