Three of the key contributors to a Wexford Literary Festival have got strong connections to Waterford.

Write by the Sea is an annual festival in Wexford that offers established and emerging authors to explore and explain the process of writing to keen writers and potential writers.

Waterford-born Daniel Mulhall will be James Joyce's work and arguing that his Ulysses is still relevant today. He is Ireland's ambassador for the USA as well as an author.

Peter Cunningham is a man who grew up in Waterford. His family has lived here since the mid-1800s.

Peter is an award-winning novelist who will be interviewed at the festival in relation to his recent novel Freedom Is A Land I Cannot See.

South East Technological University's Head of Strategy, Dr Richard Hayes, has played a key role in previous years of the event.

This year, he will be discussing Claire Keegan's recent novel Small Things Like These, which is set in New Ross. Her book won the Orwell Prize in the UK earlier this month and it has now been longlisted for the Booker Prize.

Dr Hayes will also be speaking with Roddy Doyle, whose most popular works include award-winning short stories, novels, and screenplays.

Write By The Sea will run from Friday, September 23rd to Sunday, September 25th.

It will see a weekend full of readings, conversations, workshops, and interviews with some of the most celebrated writers.

A fresh seafood lunch will be served each day and is included in the ticket price. Non-fish-eaters, Vegans, and Vegetarians can also be catered for.
