Walking, driving and cycling are the usual ways people get around in Tramore, but one local man took advantage of equipment he had to hand and skied home instead!
Kathy Rellis shared videos on Instagram of her husband, Derek Frisby, skiing through their housing estate in Tramore. Derek, who's a proficient skier, took the opportunity to put his equipment to good use at home for a change. The slopes aren't as high as the mountains in France or Switzerland, but he still managed to enjoy himself.
Kathy told WLR they're looking forward to some aprés-ski in The Ritz in Tramore when the red alert is lifted.
Derek, home safely with son James.
A status red weather alert warning is now in place for all counties in Ireland, with calls for everyone to be indoors by 4pm at the latest when the worst of the snow and Storm Emma are due to hit. For live, up-to-the-minute updates on the storm, listen to WLR.
