Roberto Carlos
At 48 years old, Roberto Carlos played in a Sunday league match for a local pub.
The three-time Champions League winner took the field for Shrewsbury's Bull in the Barne pub team thanks to an Ebay raffle called “Dream Transfer,” in which proceeds went to Football Beyond Borders.
Even though the Sunday League side had a World Cup winner on its side, Roberto Carlos still had to wait to come off the bench. But the Brazilian star scored a second-half penalty with his legendary left-footed shot, although it was not enough to see Bull in the Barne win the friendly.
Roberto said in interview “Tactically, my teammates were not the same that I’m used to but they worked hard . I nearly joined Chelsea in 2007 and Aston Villa in 1995, but it didn’t work out.”
Go on Roberto.
The Batman
A live bat was released during a showing of The Batman in Austin, Texas, forcing the theater to pause the film and attempt to remove the animal.
Staff acted swiftly at the Friday screening, once they realized an audience member had released the bat.
Video of the incident showed the bat flying around the theater as audience members remained seated.
Several attempts to remove the bat from the showing were unsuccessful. Animal control officers were summoned.
The theater offered refunds, but the majority of audience members opted to stay and watch the movie, “bat and all”. That is what you call dedication.
