Ollie spoke to Spin Home movie reviewer Tony Ryan about "The Batman". Tony gave a great all round account of the brooding, tormented superhero as portrayed by Robert Pattinson.

Directed by Matt Reeves Tony described it as an origin story meets detective thriller. The film sees Robert Pattinson step into the Bat suit in a story set two years after Bruce Wayne first becomes the masked crusader of Gotham City. Batman fights corruption in the city while teaming with Lieutenant James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright) to tackle a serial killer named The Riddler (Paul Dano).

The movie really shines in its villains. Dano’s superb portrayal of The Riddler is the best depiction of a Batman villain since Heath Ledger’s Joker. He is unsettling and unpredictable while not  appearing frightening once he discards his mask . We also have Colin Farrell, who is completely unrecognizable and superb as Penguin. His makeup and fat suit give him a new appearance, but his voice and accent are so very different from his own that he completely disappears in the role filled with humour and charm.
