The deadline to nominate your group or club for the Waterford PPN Community and Voluntary Awards is fast approaching.
Waterford PPN Community and Voluntary Awards were introduced 16 years ago to recognise and celebrate the community organisations and volunteers that work tirelessly in our communities; for their outstanding contributions making their communities a great place to live, work, play and visit.
Shine a light on those that make a real difference in your community and see their efforts recognised by nominating your group, organisation, society, club, and local champions.
The group award categories include Age Friendly, Arts, Culture and Heritage, Children and Youth, Environment, Residents Association, Healthy and Active Communities, Social Enterprise and Social Inclusion.
This year also features two new awards in collaboration with Waterford Volunteer Centre that will highlight and recognise the unsung heroes for their outstanding contribution during the Covid-19 Pandemic. These include Covid-19 Community Champion and Covid-19 Special Project Award.
The group must be not for profit, must be active in Waterford City or County and judges will be selected from outside of Waterford.
Nomination forms are available on waterfordppn.ie or by calling 058-21198 and the closing date for entries is tomorrow Friday, October 29th.
The awards are run in collaboration with Waterford City and County Council and Waterford Volunteer Centre.
On Thursday, November 25th Waterford PPN will announce and honour those volunteers in an online ceremony. Some of last year's winners included Déise Women’s Shed, Dungarvan Utd AFC and Belvedere Manor Resident’s Association.
