The SS Formby and the SS Coningbeg had embarked on trade voyages from Waterford to Liverpool in December 1917, when tragedy struck and they were torpedoed by a German U-Boat as part of a World War 1 attack. This Friday December 17th, talks take place on these events, and the tragic loss of life.
