Towns and villages across Waterford are being invited to apply to be the host of the third Grow Remote conference that will take place next year.
Grow Remote is a social enterprise that sees remote work as a key factor in regional and local development by making job opportunities available to everyone regardless of location.
They are organising a one-day conference that will take place on April 27th next year, but need somewhere to host it.
The conference will feature speakers from across Europe and aims to help people to understand how the world will change as employment is removed from location.
The speakers will share their opinions on urban development, new talent programmes for communities, climate change, and inclusion.
“We know the benefits of remote work, but we need to discuss how we implement the benefits of it into Sustainable Development Goal plans, how we attract talent to Ireland, how cities will change, and more - we need a more substantial conversation around the changes this will bring,” John Riordan, former chairman at leading remote employer Shopify said.
General Manager of Grow Remote, John Evoy, says events such as this could bring roughly €50,000 into local communities.
To nominate your town or village for the next conference simply fill out the short questionnaire.
The conference is the first of its kind internationally and will attract remote workers and companies.
The first one was in 2018 and hosted by Tralee, while the last was in Tubbercurry, Sligo in 2019.
