It's a case of Spring Chicken for McDonalds with a new addition to the menu.

The fast food giant, which recently introduced its McPlant Vegan Burger, is to launch a chicken version of the Big Mac across all its Irish outlets, including those in Waterford.

The limited-edition new burger will go on sale for a relatively short window of time from February 2nd until March 15th.

The fast-food giant says it's responding to customer demand after a high level of requests to introduce the Chicken Big Mac to its menu.

McDonalds described the burger as “the classic Big Mac we all know and love” complete with triple-layered bun, two 100 per cent chicken breast patties in a crispy coating, a slice of cheese, lettuce, pickles and the Big Mac sauce.... Hungry yet?!

That's not where the expanding menu ends. Returning due to popular demand are the Double Big Mac, Mozzarella Dippers and the McFlurry in Galaxy Chocolate and Galaxy Salted Caramel.

In other takeaway food news for Waterford, Camile Thai has opened a franchise at the Ardkeen Retail Park. More here.
