October is breast cancer awareness month and we are doing our bit here on WLR to promote awareness of the disease which affects 1 in 9 women in their lifetime. The majority of those women will be aged 40 or over however, it also affects younger women.
Breast Cancer & Me is a new documentary that will air on WLR this Bank Holiday Monday, and tells the story of four women diagnosed in their 30s.
The programme is produced and presented by Sinead Aherne who has worked in WLR's newsroom for many years, and was made with funding from the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland with the TV licence fee.
