Tunefest takes place in Dungarvan this weekend, June 24th - 26th.

It comprises sessions, concerts, recitals, workshops, and CD launches. Organisers describe it as "the cream of traditional Irish music, dance and song."

WLR will broadcast live from Tunefest this Saturday afternoon from 1-4pm with Timmy Ryan. You can listen live here.

Friday June 24th:

Lawlor's Hotel: Button accordionist Mairtin O’Connor, fiddle and banjo player Cathal Hayden &  singer/songwriter Seamie O’Dowd in concert, Lawlors Hotel, together in concert.

Saturday June 25th:

The Creamery: Ímar with David Geaney in concert, The Creamery. Ímar is a Glasgow band and winners of the Horizon Award for Best Emerging Act at the 2018 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. Joining them is world champion Irish dancer David Geaney.

Earlier on Saturday – There will be music class workshops followed by tutors and students who come together to play a joint concert, as well as a busking competition on the streets.

Sunday June 26th:

The Park Hotel sees DANÚ in concert.  Since 1995 Danú have grown to be one of Ireland’s most renowed trad  bands, with their concerts featuring high-energy performances and a mix of ancient music & new repertoire.
