WLR is Waterford’s leading radio station, dedicated to serving the local community with engaging content and initiatives. Each year, we host the WLR Christmas Appeal to support those in need during the Christmas and new year period. For 2024, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Events Co-ordinator to lead and execute this important community event.
Role Description: We are looking for a dynamic and organised person to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of the WLR Christmas Appeal 2024. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background in event management and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the team to develop and implement a comprehensive plan for the WLR Christmas Appeal 2024.
- Coordinate all aspects of the event, including logistics, fundraising activities, promotions, and volunteer management.
- Liaise with sponsors, donors, and community partners to secure support and resources.
- Plan and execute promotional activities, both on-air and off-air, to maximise awareness and participation.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in event management is preferred.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in fundraising and sponsorship acquisition.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
