  Weather for Sunday, January 26th

Early this morning will be dry and very cold over much of Munster with frost and ice. Persistent or heavy rain and strong, gusty southeast winds will spread northeastwards through the morning. Scattered heavy showers will follow as rain clears northwards. A few thunderstorms are possible. Winds will become southerly and ease somewhat as rain clears. Highest temperatures of 7 or 8 degrees.

Tonight, scattered heavy showers merging to longer spells of rain at times, will continue to push in from the southwest, heaviest. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 5 degrees with mostly moderate to fresh southerly winds, but strong to gale force in the south and southwest, especially near coasts.

Monday will be a blustery day with further spells of rain or showers in most areas. There will be a few bright intervals too. Fresh and gusty southerly winds will ease and become variable for a time and will then become fresh northwesterly during the evening. Highest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees.
