On Friday, 23rd of February, the annual Waterford Business Awards in association with Waterford Chamber, WLR and Waterford City and County Council will take place in Faithlegg House Hotel, celebrating the best in Waterford business across 10 categories. In each category, 3 local businesses are shortlisted, and every day between now and the gala awards ceremony, we’ll be putting the spotlight on a different awards category here on WLR.

MOUNT CONGREVE
Considered one of the best gardens in the world, Mount Congreve has been enjoyed by tourists and locals alike since opening to the public. The gates will swing open again mid March and with the new Greenway entrance, Mount Congreve is sure to welcome an even wider national and international audience to the 70 acres of tranquil gardens. As we enter a new phase for both Mount Congreve and Waterford itself, these are exciting times and the gardens will continue to place Waterford firmly on the international tourist stage.
SPECIAL BRANCH CARVINGS
Master carver John Hayes needs no introduction having recently created the world's longest wooden sword, which now sits proudly on Bailey’s New Street. Alongside it you will see the King of the Vikings, which is now the most photographed art sculpture in Waterford. John has also gained a reputation overseas for his art and competes on the international stage representing Ireland at the highest level. Commercially, John has created pieces for some of the countries largest companies and looks forward to revealing many more new and exciting projects in the year ahead.
WATERFORD WALLS
Waterford Walls is an international street art festival which takes place in Waterford City and is now in year four. Due to huge demand, organisers have extended the festival out to 10 days from August 17th-26th, with over 50 artists taking part and something for everyone to enjoy. Waterford Walls has placed Waterford on the international tourist street art map as a must see street art attraction and focuses on engaging and connecting local business, organisations, social and schools communities throughout the initiative. Waterford Walls shows the power of art which bring life, colour and positivity back to the community.
