Ferrybank fire brought under control

A large fire which broke out at approximately 8.45pm this evening in the Ferrybank region has been brought under control.

No injuries were reported in the course of the fire, which is currently being investigated.

Units of the fire service attended the call-out, however due to the ongoing industrial strike action, units in attendance were under pressure due to main stations such as Tramore closed today as part of the industrial action.

The fire broke out adjacent to Caulfield's in Ferrybank along the banks of the River Suir. No damage has been reported to either buildings or boats in the course of the fire which is currently being extinguished, as of 9pm, Monday August 7.
