Mary O'Neill is a broadcast journalist and presenter with WLR.
She co-hosts the Big Breakfast Blaa with Oliver Carroll every morning from 6am, where you can hear great music as well as plenty of banter with listeners and updates from the world of showbiz, film and Netflix. Mary also presents and produces WLR's weekly Arts programme, 'On the Fringe' which airs on Tuesday evenings. On Sunday evenings she fronts 'Catch Up', which gives you the chance to listen back on the best of WLR from the week gone by.
Prior to making the move to early mornings, Mary spent three years as a reporter in WLR's award winning and busy newsroom.
Mary has lived and worked in Waterford since 2004. Although she grew up in Kilkenny, she's hoping to be get citizenship any day soon and be an honorary 'Blaa'.
She has an Honours Degree in Journalism from DIT.
When she's not working, Mary enjoys reading, music, theatre, cinema and most of all, eating and drinking coffee, particularly if there's a beach nearby. She and Ollie recently set up their own 'Big Breakfast Blaa Book Club' which meets once a month in Momo restaurant on Patrick Street (more excuses for food and drink!)
