Ann Dolan and her husband Larry operate The Nosh Pod out of The Northern Extension in Waterford City. Their offering includes soup, salad, sandwiches and healthy baked treats, as well as artisan coffee. Their ethos is to create top quality food using local producers wherever possible.
Ann told me that her childhood shaped her future in many ways, as her family were in the grocery business. She also tells us that Larry discovered an unusual skill he had, when working for Tesco.

On Tuesday Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise Leo Varadkar opened Enterprise Ireland’s €1m Competitive Start Fund (CSF) for applications from ambitious entrepreneurs and start-ups.
Early-stage companies from all sectors with an eligible innovative product or service set for global markets are encouraged to enter the competition. Successful projects can secure up to €50,000 in funding.
