Future plans for Waterford, Iasc Seafood and Innovation Arena Awards - it's The Hot Desk

An ambitious plan was unveiled entitled Waterford - Find Your Future at an event at Theatre Royal on Wednesday April 21st.  It includes making Waterford City a 'Decarbonising Zone.' The Tánaiste Leo Varadkar was among the many speakers who gave an address at the event.

Below is a flavour of what was discussed at the event which was MC'd by Teresanne O'Reilly..

In Episode 3 of my feature series Bold Moves, all about people who launched a business in the Pandemic, I spoke to Caitlín Uí hAodha, who runs Iasc Seafood Bar and Restaurant in Dungarvan.

Caitlín is from a rich fishing tradition, and she operates her own boat. She's very conscientious about sourcing her produce and believes more should be done to protect the fishing industry in Ireland.

Innovators and entrepreneurs in the agriculture sector are invited to enter their pioneering agri-related products and services for consideration to the annual Innovation Arena Awards. The deadline for the competition, which will be run in a virtual way for the second year running, is June 30th, 2021.
