Many of you might have seen a Channel 4 spoof of the Christmas Day speech by the Queen, in which the message about trust and deception by technology came to the fore. That video was made using Deep Fake technology, a type of artificial intelligence that allows for the recreation of scenes and events, sometimes to uncannily good effect.
Jordan Casey of Hub/SCNE tells Andy and me that Deep Fake is a bit of a double-edged sword; while it has sinister potential, especially when it comes to celebrities, it can also be a useful educational tool.
