Based on the David Walliams' book of the same name, Gangsta Granny the play is aimed at adults and kids alike. It's running at Theatre Royal Thursday May 9th & Friday May 10th at 11:30am, Friday May 10th at 6pm and Saturday May 11th at 11:30am. You'll find out more here
What's it all about?
Ben is an 11-year-old want-to-be plumber fed up with spending his Friday nights at Granny’s. All she wants to do is play scrabble and eat cabbage – not exactly his idea of fun! Hungry and bored Ben goes searching for something more edible in the kitchen and stumbles upon an old biscuit tin. The tin holds more than just digestives, however, it contains Granny’s biggest secret… She's an international jewel thief - and she needs his help to pull off her biggest heist yet, stealing the crown jewels!
Who's it aimed at?
The director Scott Worsfold (who joined Ollie and me on The Big Breakfast Blaa,) says this will appeal to kids from aged seven onwards, and to adults too! He says it's a fun play for all the family but there are some important messages in there too, about how we relate to the elderly people in our lives.
