Aslan and Damien Dempsey, Saturday June 8th
Aslan's album Goodbye Charlie Moonhead was released 25 years ago back in 1994.
The band are touring the album throughout 2019 and are very excited about taking to the stage at the Marquee, where they will perform old favourites such as Rainman, Where's the Sun, Games, Sweet Time, Goodbye Charlie Moonhead and of course Crazy World, This Is and Too Late for Hallelujah.
The very special guest on the night is Damien Dempsey, who will bring his full band with him. Damien's been really busy lately with his new collaborative album Union released in March.
Damien at the Aiken launch in the River Lee Hotel
We were delighted to be in the presence of Damien Dempsey who performed for journalists at the Aiken Promotions launch in the River Lee Hotel. Afterwards Damien chatted to Ollie about all manners of things, including growing up in Donameade and practicing his electric guitar in his terraced house (much to the "delight" of the neighbours!) He also told Ollie who his biggest influences were growing up, about whether he still gets nervous on stage, and about the established artists who have helped him along the way.
If you like hearing us chat to Irish musicians, have a listen here to Ruthanne on the Drive Home Live Sessions with Teresanne..
